The number of personal weather stations is growing  and people are contributing data to various sites, which is great, however, the quality of data from some, is questionable.  This is why I strongly support the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP).  They provide feedback regarding data quality based on their analysis and nearby personal weather stations (PWS).  They will notify registered sites of data discrepancies, via e-mail, which allows data contributors to calibrate, relocate or make other corrections as necessary to improve their data quality.
